The place where a company performs its day to day operations can be seen as a unique reflection of its goal, uniqueness and appeal. This is something that offers a good insight into the brand and at the same time it’s also an amazing way to further improve the way a company works unlike never before. It’s a very professional method that will help you better focus on the way the company works, allowing you to take things to the next level in a very interesting, unique and extraordinary manner.

In order to do so you need to first understand the office design trends, as these are the ones that will dictate the way an office looks or works, so you do need to focus on them first.

It all comes down to the size of the business, because larger companies are known to cover entire campuses, whereas the modern office trends for the smaller businesses is to work in apartments and other similar things. Still, with the help of some good office design trends you will be able to fully understand how these work, how can you improve on them and at the same time you can also see the results at all times.

No matter what type of office you design, it’s a very good idea to integrate office design notions as these will help you take your company to the next level the best way you can.

Going Mobile First

We live in an age where mobility is the key when it comes to being efficient at the office. You just can’t be settled in a single space and work all day long, and this is why you need to re-arrange the office in order to provide the best possible mobile you can find out there. This means that you need to have chairs with heels, although things like standing tables and chairs or stools that are kept in a single place are also really good.

The main idea here is that the environment needs to improve the methods of collaboration between employees, and this means allowing them to move from one place to another as fast as possible.

Flexibility and human interaction is a necessity in this regard, so integrating things like ergonomic appeal, standing desks or anything that will help the end user is a necessity at this particular point. The larger the investment the better the results so you should always focus on good, mobile and flexible office furniture that will help you achieve those results.

You also need to think about the employee health. More and more persons are starting to deal with health problems because they sit too much time at the office and they don’t perform any sports. It’s a wonderful thing to have a place where people can unwind during breaks, and at the same time adding in some good workout equipment might also come in handy. A good relaxation area can be helpful as well, it all comes down to the industry you activate in, the budget that you have and all the other similar factors that you can encounter in such a situation.

The more you invest in high quality office equipment, the better the results will actually be, so keep that in mind at all times because you will not regret it. Remember that the company does need to think about the safety of its employees, so ergonomics and all the other similar stuff do need to be a focus if you want your employees to offer the best productivity and results at the workplace.

One of the main reasons mobility is important is because co-working is crucial nowadays, with most of the major breakthroughs in most industries being made through teamwork. Working in a team means that you need to have office spaces dedicated specifically to teams as that imbues more productivity and better results.

Wide Open Spaces

Another trend created by co-working is the need for open spaces. Working in a team does require a large space where people can move with ease and work around without any hassle. It’s a great productivity enhancer but at the same time this does provide quite a lot of interesting benefits, so you do need to make sure that the open spaces are handled in a professional and reliable manner, all so that you can obtain the best results.

If you can, integrate some lounge seating areas, because these are most of the time the thing that will imbue co-working professionalism. While lower walls might sound like a good idea for some, the reality is that those only foster productivity, and you need to avoid them. Open spaces are the way to go here, because they offer you a whole lot of value, better results and a higher quality experience unlike never before.

For any company that’s active nowadays, collaboration is a major concern, so adding in just a few tables and improving the way teams work together is very important. You need to make sure that all the design will bring in a great comfort as this will promote a state of wellbeing and professionalism, which is indeed needed in such a situation.

Bringing the Outdoors Inside

No employee likes the Spartan way of doing business and working, so just being inside the entire day isn’t a thing that will lead to productivity. Instead, you need to make sure that you create a living space that focuses more on productivity and which creates a state of wellbeing. You can do that by adding in plants or greenery inside the office, as this will make the entire place more visually appealing and pleasant to work it.

You can also have a terrace where people can work in during the summer, or where they can relax and then shift inside to air conditioning. Either way, putting some outdoors touch will make the employee feel that he is indeed a priority, that you care about him, the way he works and feels or other important ideas. It’s a great way to promote a healthier way of working for employees, and you will see the results shortly.

More eating rooms and kitchen

Having a good eating room will provide you with a great way to make people commune around food. Creating a good eating space will just make the entire eating experience more refined and well worth the investment. The more you invest into creating a good eating room and a stellar kitchen the better, because this will create friendships, generate collaboration and definitely only good results can come from such an endeavour.

On top of that, if the kitchen is good they can bond over food and their ideas, which is essential when it comes to creating a more interesting and professional work environment where employees have friends and not only workmates.
Add in nice colours and designs

Don’t think that just because your industry and the companies in it have a boring appeal, you need to be just like them. The more you can change the better, so why not play with colours, nuances and patterns? Not only does this allow you to create a more appealing and interesting workplace, but this also provides you with a much better way to acquire stellar results in the end. The more you invest in your workplace the better, so keep that in mind and play with some nice colours like red or orange as these not only make the place more interesting, but they are also stimulating productivity and offering you a great result in the end. Do that, and you will definitely be amazed with the results.

But you can do much more than just changing colours. Designs can also be changed, and doing so is actually a very good, sound idea to focus on. This is an amazing way to spruce up the inside of your company and take it to the next level, all while bringing in a very good set of ideas and results. If you truly want to have a modern office, then don’t be afraid to experiment with colours and designs, it’s a very neat, interesting way to spruce up the way employees work and the results will be amazing in this regard.

All in all, these are the most important trends that dominate office design in 2015. The reality is that you are free to customize your office in any way you want, but in the end it all comes down to you and your unique ideas to actually modify the inside of the office in any way you want. The more you invest in your company’s office design, the more appealing it will be for your employees and that’s what matters the most!

  1. I agree with everything in this post!! I’ve worked at two different places, one office had a lot of these ideas in place and the other was the total opposite. The place that used a lot of these designs in their offixe had a lot more positive people working there. Everyone got along and had productive days. The other place had very unhappy people who fought and talked behind everyones back. The design in the office has a lot to do with happy employees!

  2. Great advice! I especially love the idea of bringing the outdoors inside. There is nothing more distracting than having to work indoors all day knowing that it’s a beautiful day outside! I think that letting your employees work on a terrace/porch or outside during nice weather would be very effective.
